Will my baby ever sleep without a nipple in her mouth
Obviously she will at some point but looking for experiences and advice.
My daughter is just 10 weeks old and since week 4/5 we’ve been intentionally co-sleeping and sidelying breast feeding. My partner sleeps in another room, usually with our dog.
The past week or so it has been impossible to get baby to unlatch while napping or sleeping. She will occasionally do it herself (at night), she gets very cross in the day if it slips out of her mouth. The only other way she will nap is in a carrier with lots of walking.
We’ve tried using a pacifier/dummy but ever since she had her tongue tie released she can’t seem to get the hang of it.
My questions:
- how can I unlatch her and help her stay asleep?
- what kind of dummy could I try? Currently she has a Mam one
- in the meantime, how can I help my partner feel less useless as they can’t put her to bed at all anymore but used to be able to rock baby to sleep
Thanks in advance all
