BME at NJIT or Pre-engineering at Rutgers Newark

Advice

I got admitted to NJIT for Biomedical Engineering (BME), but I also got accepted into Rutgers Newark for pre-engineering with the goal of transferring to the New Brunswick School of Engineering (SOE) for BME later on.

Since the transfer from Newark to New Brunswick isn't 100% guaranteed, I’m a bit stressed about the decision. Should I just play it safe, go to NJIT, and start my BME degree right away? Or is it worth taking the risk on the Rutgers Newark pre-engineering path to try and get into Rutgers NB?

Also, for anyone who has actually done that school-to-school transfer from Newark to NB, how competitive is it really? What kind of GPA do you realistically need to get accepted?
