How does one make good cash?

I am fairly new to kenshi and while I’m having fun getting the snot beat out of me trying to save slaves and somehow not being enslaved myself, I found myself typically short on food.

I am not fully sure how to properly hunt and I don’t have things needed for a farm so I decided on buying decent food from shops (plus some equipment would be nice)

That all said… not sure what is good money outside of repeated copper mining
