Mental altar and eyes of Shiva

Question - Beginner

It's been almost two years since Kali became my ishta devata. When I seek spiritual experiences, I find nothing; but when I don't cling, Kali simply appears—this is already familiar to me. So I've been taking things more and more naturally. Besides being tiring and foolish. So I don't seek anything. Not any experience. Nor do I seek to cling to past experiences.

What has changed now is that, in these last few days, my mind has spontaneously formed an inner altar, and it is not Kali's.

Although she continues to be my center—that which is before, after, and through my eyes—I realize that my thoughts have been leaning towards Shiva. Only Shiva appears to me as something more "external," different from the immediate intimacy I have with Kali. Even so, Shiva is extremely tangible.

The mental altar is very clear: he appears in a dimly lit cave, wearing rags, with a tiger skin in his lap. But what truly stands out are his golden/amber eyes, which shine in the darkness and convey an indescribable peace. The feeling is of a living altar within the mind, as if he were always awake, observing. And then the question remains: is this just a psychological construct? I've never seen images of Shiva like this, but this vision appeared and continues to appear with great strength and life, but it's not extreme intensity.

It's an unsurpassed serenity and silence. And it's something I can "remember." But I don't know if it's a memory, since it's so vivid. At the same time, it doesn't lead me to excitement or a typical feeling of mystical experience. It's strange. It's something new. Well, maybe this is my own psychological construct. Just something symbolic and mental.

I don't have anyone to talk to about this right now who understands these things. That's why I made this post. Has something like this ever happened to you?
