Visited Lilo Kissa, SÖT in Osaka and

Tabi To, Brewman, Kielo in Tokyo.

I got these suggestions from another poster who visited Japan. Thanks to him.

None of them disappointed me, they were all extremely good. Just ignore pastries at Lilo Kissa and get pourovers. If you like to chat with Baristas Tabi To is a great place.

Barista champion (Hikaru Ono) at Brewman is very friendly, speaks English fluently. I had Yemen (3000 yen) over there at Brewman, it was really really good. I wouldn't buy Yemen beans and brew it myself...would only put my money on a champion to brew me one, haha. He is also highly recommended Acid which I didn't have time to goto.

At the end of the trip I realized prices are generally on par or a bit higher compared with top roasters in EU and USA that source high quality green. All things considered equal I think I am really paying for their impeccable roasting and attention to detail.

Couple of observations from my visit:

* SÖT uses Osaka filtered tap water
* I asked Brewman about water and he said he simply uses Tokyo tap water, not crafted water

Shopping ideas:

* Also had Kurasu ship this little cup to my hotel [https://kurasu.kyoto/products/gl-torch-little-glass](https://kurasu.kyoto/products/gl-torch-little-glass)
