Nearly done with a fic I've been working on for months!!

I've been working on a gift fic for my favorite author for MONTHS and it's finally almost done! I wrote an initial first draft and asked tumblr for a beta reader, got a ton of replies... one of them was that author LOLL. But since then, my beta (not the author) left comments and I ended up rewriting a MAJOR portion of the fic, it grew from 5.5k total words to my current 13.4k. I just finished that second draft and I'm trying to edit it, boy is it HEFTY. I'm so so excited though!! I've wanted to surprise them for months. Unfortunately, it's not as much of a surprise anymore since I ended up befriending them... but the plot and the fact that it's a gift are! It's taken me so long for a bunch of personal reasons, mostly burnout, and I just had the worst day of my life yesterday, but I'm determined to get it done. I'm so scared to post it because what if they hate it but this has taken me forever and I'm so proud of it! So so happy!!! I'm writing this post to celebrate with someone and give myself a break from editing lol
