Optic for CCW

hello everyone, i’m going through the process of obtaining my CCW as of right now through the LASD. I just waiting now for an email to contuine to train for the 16 hour course. If i wanted to buy an optic and use it for my ccw, would i have had to submit it with my initial application, or can i buy one now and use it when it comes time to take the 16hr class.

thank you !
