The Cleveland Cavaliers season is effectively over, as they are now officially down 0-3. No team has forced a Game 7 with that big a deficit since 2023 - and no team has ever overcome that deficit in the NBA.

That Game 7 was of course forced by the Boston Celtics during the year the Miami Heat went on their Cinderella run to the Finals (They lost in 5) despite lacking Tyler Herro for the postseason - and it took a miracle of a shot from Derick White in Game 6 to even get to that pivotal Game 7 where they lost in a blowout 84-103.

Needless to say, this Cavaliers team does not seem poised to be the team be the first to make history in the NBA nor become the 6th team in the major leagues (MLB, NHL, NBA) to overcome such a profound deficit. Their season is over, it's just a matter of how many games it ends in.
