Looking for a new gaming TV, and Best Buy has Memorial Day sales.

There are a bunch of deals at Best buy right now, but I don't really know what to look for with gaming. I saw a good deal on a Samsung tv but I've heard people say to stay away from Samsung. Any recommendations on what to to lean towards? Not trying to go more than 1k.
