Part 4 - The Boy on TV
SFX: [news fanfare music]
FMC: I don't know how much I can tell you. But you have been so kind to me, I can't put in any more trouble as it is. Senator Warren and my dad are old friends. Not publicly but they go way back. My dad helps the senator with... sensitive matters that need to be handled discreetly.
MMC:
FMC: Yes, his son, Cane, and I are not exactly friends but we ran in the same circles. He was just always around since we were kids, you know? And our dads... Well, they made that decision for us. At first, i thought it was joke. You know how when parents are friends then they want their kids to end up together. Turns out, they were serious about it. Especially now. [Sighs]
MMC:
FMC: Of course not! I'm too young and I don't even like the guy. He's not exactly my type. He's so spoiled and fake, he can't function without his little minions. All those charities and do-gooding? That's his dad's staff behind it all. Women's rights? Yeah, right, white knight! Hypocrite runs around town with his frat boy friends trapping girls. It's disgusting! And he's supposed to be in law school already. Eugh.
MMC:
FMC: Haha! I'm not an "I can fix him" kinda girl. I have enough problems on my own to worry about a project. Besides, guys who were raised like that from day one? Zero accountability. Everything gets swept under the rug. There's no changing that.
SFX: [news fanfare music] Tragedy hits a local diocese. Sixteen-year-old Corbin Shane McMahon is found dead at the back of the St. Patrick's Seminary, with initial findings of apparent suicide. Authorities are investigating to rule out foul play.
FMC: What?!
SFX: [a man being interviewed] My nephew was important to our family and the community. He was going to be a priest! He had his whole life ahead of him. There's no way my nephew killed himself. He looked like he was dumped here after they killed him. We will find justice for Corbin, one way or another.
SFX: [reporter's voice] That was Father Liam McMahon, parish priest to the diocese of St. Patrick and a relative of the victim.
FMC: Oh my god! [Hyperventilates]
MMC:
FMC: Yeah, I sort of know this kid. He sometimes worked for the Warrens. Oh my god!
MMC:
FMC: Of course, I'm upset! It's a kid that I know! He was so young. He volunteered at the soup kitchen. And now he's killed because of... [Cuts herself off] Oh my god!
MMC:
FMC: Killed? I don't know! Suicide or murder, that child is dead! [Hyperventilates]
MMC:
FMC: Okay, okay. We can breathe together. [Follows deep breathing with Teddy]
MMC:
FMC: Okay. [Slows breathing] We're okay. We're okay.
MMC:
FMC: [breathes] Thank you, Teddy.
MMC:
FMC: Yeah the bed's a good call. Can you, uhh, help me up? [Strains to stand up from the couch.]
MMC: [carries her back to the bedroom]
FMC: [strains] Thanks, Teddy. I'm just gonna lie down for a bit.
MMC:
FMC: Oh Teddy, why do bad things happen to good people?
MMC:
FMC: Right. All we can do is be kind to each other.
MMC:
FMC: I want to have some time alone, if you don't mind.
MMC:
FMC: Of course, go get your laptop. Don't skip out on work on my account. It's not like I'm going anywhere.
MMC:
FMC: You'll work in the living room? Great! Good. Thank you. I wasn't exactly ready to be alone.
MMC:
FMC: Umm... Teddy? Will you be back soon?
MMC:
FMC: Oh, right. Laptop's just upstairs? Okay. I'll be fine.
MMC:
SFX: [clock ticking to show the passage of time]
FMC: Oh god. I gotta use the bathroom. Stupid belly wound. [Strains] I can do this. Teddy's working. I don't wanna bother him. [Strains] Okay. Off the bed. Just a bit to the bathroom. Nice and slow. [Strains]
FMC: [falls] Aaaugh!
SFX: [soft thud]
FMC: Fuck!
SFX: [hurried footsteps from the living room]
MMC:
FMC: I'm okay. I'm okay. I just tripped on my way to the bathroom.
MMC:
FMC: Jeez! Don't pull your panties up in a bunch. I'm okay. No stitches torn or anything.
MMC:
FMC: Fine, you can take a look.
MMC:
FMC: See? I'm okay. Umm... You have very gentle hands. [Sigh] Now pull me up, will you? I still need to go to the bathroom, please?
MMC: [lifts her]
FMC: Yeah, fine. You can carry me this time. I don't wanna pee all over your guestroom.
FMC: Thanks.
SFX: [flushing and washing sounds]
FMC and MMC: [walking out of the bedroom] [Straining, but to a lesser degree]
MMC:
FMC: Yeah. I'm feeling a lot better. Let's go to the kitchen, please. No need to carry me around this time. I can just lean on you.
MMC:
FMC: Oh right. You're working here in the kitchen. I'm sorry about all this. Me being here turned out to be such an inconvenience.
MMC:
FMC: Thanks.
FMC: Oh. Is this your sketchbook? Aha! Drawing while listening to another boring Zoom meeting. Classic. [Chuckles]
FMC: [Picks up a sketchbook from the table and flips through the pages] Are these your sketches? Is this your cat?
MMC:
FMC: What do you mean nothing? These drawings are beautiful! And your cat is super cute. It's kinda hard to render either pure black or white fur. Your highlights and shadows are so balanced. And that fur! She looks so real and soft and cuddly.
MMC:
FMC: The cat's name is Tim? Like Timothy? So it's a boy cat?
MMC:
FMC: Ohhh so Tim is a female. Sure. She's adorable! And you drew her eyes so expressive. She looks like she's patiently waiting for her food. So cute. Teddy, you have talent! [teasing tone] Seems like the ruthless businessman has a sensitive soul.
MMC:
FMC: So art is just a hobby? I respect that. So realtor at work, artist at home?
MMC:
FMC: You wanna know something? I have a sketchbook in my purse, too.
MMC:
FMC: Yeah, can you... Uhhh, grab my purse from the guestroom for a sec, please? Sorry.
MMC: [retrieves the purse from the room]
FMC: [pulls her sketchbook from her purse] See? Cafe owners are less likely to kick you out for overstaying if they see a girl with cute glasses, cute clothes, with her little sketchbook and paints. [Laughs lightly] They don't even mind when I fall asleep on their tables.
MMC: [flips through her sketchbook]
FMC: Oh these are just some quick watercolors of places i've stayed in. Or places I wanna go. Cutesy stuff. Your charcoal art is like serious and soulful stuff. How did you learn to do all this?
MMC:
FMC: That's amazing. Keep going if it feeds your soul. Everyone needs a creative outlet.
MMC:
FMC: How did you get your cat?
MMC:
FMC: Oh so even female cats follow you around? Right. [Chuckles] Charming as heck.
MMC:
FMC: From the alley just like me, huh. You have a habit of picking up strays? [chuckles] I'd like to meet her someday.
MMC:
FMC: Oh, she's just upstairs? Nice! Maybe I'll meet her soon.
MMC:
FMC: So charcoal and graphite? I've never tried it. Can i give it a try?
MMC:
FMC: Stillman & Birn. Wow. We use the exact same brand. See, I knew you weren't completely an idiot. We both know good quality paper.
MMC:
FMC: Sure. I can share my watercolors with you, too. Here.
MMC:
SFX: [light scratching of graphite on paper]
FMC: [whispers] You have beatiful hands, Teddy.
End of Part 4
Sorry if it took this long to do Part 4. Life happens but I will keep going.
This is my very first ASMR script and I would truly appreciate your feedback.
You can read the other parts of our bratty runaway's story here.

The story beats are the same but the lines are not one-to-one equivalents.
Dear Voice Actors: If you wish to fill this script, record, post, and monetize, please let me know. I allow adlibs and some improv on this script. I'm new to this game so I don't know much. How do writers like me help the VAs? I may soon start a YouTube channel or something so you can tag me as your collaborator. Hopefully, this would help avoid voice actors from getting demonetized. Keep going if it feeds your soul!
