- Our nanny’s start time is 8 am. She usually arrives closer to 8:20 and is rather chatty, usually keeping us in conversation until at least 8:45 or 9. I WFH. Thankfully my job is flexible, but I’m losing nearly an hour of work a day, and find myself working through lunch or after work hours to make up the time when I already have a very full workload.
- We’re wanting to start our daughter in 3 day a week pre-K in August. Nanny’s husband was just laid off, so very dependent on income from her job with us. We think the pre-k is the right move for daughter. She’s super bright and we think would benefit from structured learning environment. We’re due with another in December. My leave will be rather short, but we’re hoping she will stay on with us for the 2-day a week daughter is not in pre-k, and then hopefully come back 5 days a week in Feb.
Q1. How do we tell nanny that we need her to be more prompt and we can’t chat for 30-40 mins each day?
Q2. How do we break the news about pre-k to her and hope she will stay on with us?
