90s cassette tape with kids music and Baba Yaga story
I had a cassette growing up in the 90s that I listened to every night to fall asleep until the tape unravelled and tore because my dumb ass liked to fiddle with all the little parts. I was sooo upset and can still hear the songs in my head to this day but have no idea what the tape was called. It was definitely for kids because one of the songs was like 'oh he threw up on the bathroom floor, yes he threw up on the bathroom floor' - this is all I remember but it plays in my brain on a loop.
One of the songs was definitely Whistling Gypsy Rover (sung by a woman). It also had 'no more monkeys jumping on the bed' told by an adult and a small child. The adult seemed like they were reading it to their kid and the kid was helping and I found it very comforting.
There was also a specific recording of Baba Yaga that I've never been able to find. I remember 3 children waiting for their parents to come home and I think they were playing with kittens. They go into the woods for some reason and encounter the hut Baba Yaga lives in, and whenever the witch is mentioned, a bunch of ppl chorus 'WHERE'S MY LUNCH?'. I remember this being terrifying. They come across magical objects that help them get away, one of them being a stone I think they have to throw and it turns into a mountain, and there's a long whistling sound effect as the stone drops. This sounds like a fever dream lmao but I listened to this every single night for years and have never been able to find it.
Anyone know what I'm talking about?
