Paladin feels really bad compared to other classes

I only just started playing again recently after a long hiatus from just before VoH. Tried a pally for my first character this season and it felt weak, I figured it was just growing pains but at some point I got sick of it and rolled a sorcerer focused on static field instead. WOW, the difference was cataclysmic. I clear content so much faster and more comfortably as my sorc than my paladin ever did it’s insane.
