Victory

You hid behind a glowing screen,

A shadow refusing to appear,

Constructing games to pull the strings,

And feeding on my doubt and fear.

But now you play the wounded soul,

Reversing roles to twist the blade,

Denying every scratch and scar

That your cruel architecture made.

You said that every silent day

Without my voice was a "victory" won,

So let me grant your bitter wish,

And leave the damage you have done.

Go take your triumphs where you can,

Go give your love to those you choose,

I am reclaiming all my worth;

I have no more of me to lose.

The screen is dark, the line is dead,

The truth is mine, unchanged and bright.

I don't care if you respond,

I gave you way too many chances to get it right

And the one who loved you is gone tonight.

Move on with your life, you're starting to look desperate

The very word you used to write.
