Looking for travel tips

Hello, my wife and i are planning a trip as my graduation gift to myself and i was wondering about going to the faroe islands.

How long would you suggest staying for?
What are some things youd recommend doing besides hiking?
Any specific foods youd recommend?
Any cities youd suggest us spending more than a day in?
Would you recommend renting a small camper and driving around, then use ferries or what would you recommend?
Im guessing its pretty cold there throughout the year, is it also pretty windy as well?
Should i bring bug spray?
What are some other things you think i should know?
