most of the issues modern Pinterest has in a nutshell

Discussion

This is basically most of the issues modern Pinterest has for the past couple of years and considering that there's barely any posts on similar to this on here already from what I've seen, I decided to make this to fill that void so yeah. If there's any more I missed let

NO.1: They love turning off comments for no reason. On like half of the pins on here, they just randomly get turned off and yet you can't even turn them back on or even see the OG comments before it got turned off, even tho most of the pins that get comments turned off are pretty tame and don't violate any guidelines at all whatsoever.

I thought I was the only one who had this issue since so many of my pins just keep on getting the comments turned off but practically everyone on here has the exact same issue for a while now so its probably due to them using a system where they flag user activity and guess their age (which is already pretty dumb cause it can easily flag someone who isn't a kid just because their hobbies are "childish") or its thanks to them relying too much on AI moderation which is probably the most likely answer to be honest.

Its still very annoying tho and its also the main reason why I don't really post on Pinterest that much at all cause there's like a 70% chance they would randomly turn off my comments.

NO.2: Their AI flagging system is garbage. it just keeps on flagging alot of art related pins as "AI modified" for no reason even tho most of them are not made with AI and alot of actual AI images don't get flagged as AI for no reason. From my experience, the only pins that got labelled as "AI modified" are like 3D render pins even tho most of them are made with Prisma 3D and had no AI involvement whatsoever.

NO.3: Way too many ads. This one has been talked about to death so I'm going keep it short but TL;DR: pinterest has so many ads that its just crazy and alot of them are video ads too which makes it impossible for it to stop playing so it uses way too much ram, making it harder for it to be used on lower hardware stuff. It isn't that hard to so for desktop tho, for the sponsored stuff you can easily just turn on an ad blocker on web/desktop version but for mobile Idk how to do so to be honest and there's some pins that are ads disguised as actual pins so Idk about them either to be honest. But yeah, Pinterest has too many ads.

honorable mentions:

- Takes down the most innocent images imaginable and still gives you a violation notice for saving them. This would've been fine if the image actually violated them but alot of the time it does so to pins that are pretty tame, hence why its included.

- UI downgraded overtime but alot of websites do that so its not really worth mentioning too much.

-The home page sometimes breaks and most of the recommends pins that your not interested in at all for no reason. It can be easily be fixed by simply reloading it but its kinda annoying so it still kinda deserved a mention.

-search function frequently shows results irrelevant to the thing you searched, idk why it does this but it does.

final notes: Alot of Pinterest's modern issues is related to one thing and one thing only for the most part: their over reliance on AI moderation. Its just yet another example of why you shouldn't rely all your moderation or really anything completely on AI, as other sites like Roblox and Youtube already proved us in the past. Moral of the story, use actual human mods for once and fix the ai bots so it reduces all the chances of it false flagging innocent pins. For the other issues, fix those bugs and reduce the amount of ads on here.

Too bad that the current CEO is an AI bro and his direction for Pinterest is based on AI so until he steps down and gets replaced by a good CEO, all of these issues probably won't be fixed anytime soon.

Sorry if its too long but I've wanted to talk about them for a while so yeah.
