"I must say I’m surprised that you came to me.”

Lena ignored the bait and merely stared back at her brother, mind already made up. This was the way forward and there was no getting around it. Especially when Supergirl’s life hung in the balance.

Somehow Metallo had gotten their hands on a weapon that had allowed them to keep pace with and ultimately triumph over Supergirl which had left her lying in a hospital bed at the DEO while they worked to rid her body of the excess kryptonite radiation keeping her in critical condition. 

“I’m unable to synthesize an antidote for Supergirl fast enough. I need your help. Your research could prove useful. *You* could prove useful.”

“Supergirl having a bad day?" He grinned at her and she had to fight the urge to advance on him.

“I’m sure you had a hand in it Lex. I don’t care about that right now. You love making deals, negotiating. Right now you have all the power, so why don’t we deal?” She knew he wouldn’t be able to resist the chance to hold something over her. She wouldn’t be surprised if he had orchestrated things to shake out just that way. 

 “Lex…” she urged and took a step closer, her gaze dropping to her chest and watched as his gaze did the same, settling on the sight of her cleavage and the unbuttoned button on her blouse. Not something she would have done normally but desperate times were just that. 

“What’s your opening offer, Lena?”

“Are you going to make me say it?” She fought the blush rising in her cheeks and couldn’t stop from looking at the floor. “I’’ll spend the night with you,” she murmured.

“Wouldn’t be the first time,” he said snidely. “That’s also a good start.” He reached for her and took her hand, shaking it pompously. “But first things first, let’s save that alien friend of yours and then we can focus on our business…”
