100BaseTX Ethernet over a standard audio snake?

Stupid question: Has anyone tried to run 100BaseTX Ethernet using RJ45 to two XLR adapters, where the transmit pair and receiver pair are on different channels' pins 2 & 3?

This is for a 300' snake, and is for non-critical network traffic (monitoring something). It might be used for another Wi-Fi access point if it works reliably enough for a remote tablet, but again, not critical to the show.

Just curious is anyone has tried this and how did it work?
