Are there any cool things I could try with pottery/glazing?
Hello all!
I'm halfway through setting up a pottery studio, and all I need is a glaze lab, and a few alternative firing kilns.
I really wish I had a chemistry background, or went to school for ceramic engineering or something, but I didn't.
Obviously, there's other subs and a ton of books I have/can get in regards to firing and glaze development... but....
I'm curious if y'all could think of any unique, different, or crazy ideas that I could try?
Is there anything interesting that you've noticed in your chemical career that perhaps stained something that looked cool... or did funky things that might translate to ceramics?
Or... have you stumbled across any materials that could be formed like clay, that has super interesting properties?
I'd be willing to pay a sort of royalty or something if it works out.
