Columbia MSCS Reqs and Odds

Hi everyone,

I was looking for some advice on applying to the masters program for CS at Columbia. This was a recent decision so I did miss the fall application deadline but from what I understand they’re one of the few universities that accepts spring admissions for masters programs.

I’ve got some professional experience (around 8 months), graduated with a bachelors in CS from UC Davis (though my gpa wasn’t outstanding, 3.1 UC and cumulative 3.65 - could’ve done better but a lot of life stuff happened around that time). That’s my primary concern, though I also did no undergraduate research so I was wondering if that would greatly impact my chances.

If anybody can weigh in on my chances or give advice for my application it would be greatly appreciated, thank you. Suggestions for other programs would be great as well, but I’m prioritizing NYC and possibly overseas programs in Norway or Sweden (probably would have to wait for the next admission cycle for most of them).
