Need to replace extension springs and pulleys
The cables on my garage door are off the pulleys, and I had a tech look at it and said it needs a replacement of the pulleys/cables and extension springs.
As I am looking into it, seems torsion springs are a better option than extension springs. Is that a conversion that can be done? Or do I need a complete new garage door setup to go that route?
And if I wanted to replace the current cables/pulleys/extension springs, how difficult is it? I am very mechanically handy and will do it carefully. (I have replaced the pull-down attic door springs in the past but never the garage door)
Thanks.
