Why were the Spearhead servers so extremely bad today?

I am not spoiled when playing on Spearhead, and I expect the server to crash sooner or later, but today it was fucking horrible, and the servers constantly cut off at so many fun moments I wanted to punch my screen. I noticed they had done some update, at least to the UI; I have no idea about anything else, so maybe this is why? But seriously, if they are working this badly, please just take them down for a little while and find what mod is fucking everything. I hear about people getting mad DDoS attacks, but I don't know if I buy that; it feels more like the million mods are the problem 80% of the time. Complaining like this, I still love it, and I am a bit ashamed of myself for how long I was sitting rejoining, hoping to get a good fight...

Btw, how do you guys play Spearhead? I noticed many "clans" or whatever, or groups of people playing together. Personally, I am not into that and mostly enjoy playing alone, but with people I meet on the server, it is just so annoying getting a bunch of dudes in the same server on the same team, then there is always so much drama and irritating shit talking between members. But I am a team player through and through. I am no leader since I don't know the most effective way to play, but I have a background as a soldier back when I was young and fresh, well, fresh is maybe being genours, a fresh drunk. It is cool because some real-world tactics can work decently on Spearhead, way more than vanilla, Squad, and all the other "milsims."

My way of fighting is either I make first contact, shooting at an unsuspecting enemy, or in that case, I will try to call out for my teammates and then start engaging. If the enemy gets a drop on me, I try to make it harder to kill me by suppressing a lot in the general direction of the enemy. I would say 40-50% are alright at this, but more should not be afraid to use some ammo. Idk if this is overkill or if it actually works as I think it does, so I would like to hear what you think?
