How's the eastern side of Strawberry for a young family?

Young family with two young kids. Looking at houses in Mill Valley. Sycamore park is wonderful but the houses are generally tiny.

I visited Strawberry and found it beautiful. Curious for your thoughts on
- the micro climate on the eastern side.
- how's the area for young kids? Is there a community or is it pretty isolated given its hilly.
- how's the occasional commute to SF market street?
