got evans hall for housing

hi,

me and my roommate were only able to snag a double in Evans Hall for the upcoming year. I'm pretty happy with it generally (the location is actually pretty fire, and the dorm room seems bigger than a lot of other dorms) I just have some questions to ease my mind a bit.

  1. I'm a gay Asian male engineering major, and I'm wondering that since its gender-specific, will it be more conservative in terms of residents and a bit more less racially diverse? Will it also be harder to meet girls? (I don't want to limit my circle to just guys!)
  2. I heard a bit about the social aspect, and I was hoping to get into six pack for the social experience. obv that didn't work out, so is the social scene as bad as people say? And how easy will it be make friends with people from other parts of campus during welcome week? I know about RSOs and stuff, but specifically for those first couple weeks, and I want to make sure I have some friends to do things with.

Thanks in advance!
