Hello wise and all-knowing miata owners

This is my first MIATA. Her name is Kuro Ringo

Or Kuro for short.

I've recently bought Kuro a stock 1990 na mazda Roadster(japanese version) for 2700 NZD, about 1600 USD or 1200 GBP

It has a 1.6 5 speed manual with 183000 genuine kms on her or 113000 miles.

I would like to know what I should check to get her ready to put new plates on as she needs re registering

Yes, Kuro looks rough as she's had 12 past owners all doing their own thing to her, and I hope to bring her back to her prime, mostly stock form

She has all the parts to complete the car, but I had taken some parts out to fix them, such as the tail lights

The drain all work and aren't blocked.

I've checked the front right fender for rust underneath, and there is no rust, just some dirt haven't gotten around to checking other spots yet.

All buttons work

All lights work, including floppy lights

Brakes work

Tires have heaps of tread

The engine runs well. I think there is no ticking noise and starts first crank

Belt does make sound when shifting down at night, guessing cause I got light and heat on

Soft top in good condition only one small hole

Gears are smooth and don't slip

There is no major play in suspension

Paint is horrible as there's three coats on top of each other, and the top two are peeling, but that is just cosmetic

Some rust under where the battery was as it was too big to fit in the protective plastic, but nothing a grinder and primer can fix ofc will use proper primer and rust converter.

Please give me some tips on what I should check out or focus on. Thanks

My FIRST MIATA
