Wanting a Partial Refund for my stay [COLORADO]
We stayed in a shared space and rented a room. Usually for rented rooms we have stayed in so far the rooms have been “guest ready”
Immediately upon walk in the room was clearly lived in and someone else’s room while we they were out. Literally all the persons things were everywhere. Even in the bathroom were all their used toiletries and even had a stone dish that had opened tooth paste with hair all over it in th bathroom on the sink. We had no where to put our things at all. The closet door was locked he stated because “his clothes were in there” so our suitcases and bags are just in the middle of the room taking up space
Also the listing stated there was TV when I asked the host about it he stated the TV was broke. Also host did not mention a live in dog staying here until 30 minutes to our check in. (This was not listed on the listing). Whole house smells like wet dog.
Also the host stated the fridges and pantry were labeled and we would have space for our things. Upon checking the fridges were filled to the max and smelled and there was no labeling anywhere for our things. Same with the pantry ( See photos).
We arrived later in the day and also had no extra money available to book a different room while waiting on Airbnb refund so we stayed. When we told host of the issues he stated regarding the storage issue. He can try to grab some things but that’s really all the space in there, we can’t access the closet (the space he speaks in is a book shelf literally, an a night stand. photos showed a closet so I assumed that was where our storage would go)
Regarding the hairy tooth paste an used toiletries he claimed “the cleaner well before leaving an sent him photos” then said “he left the toothpaste just incase someone needed it” Mind you this was like unused toiletries for guest this was open used toothpaste with hair on it that was clearly his (also this contradicts the cleaner statement)
He is very nice & is not staying in the unit. but still these are major issues. We didn’t have money to book a new unit while waiting on a refund so we decided to stay (and before the budget police says anything if we did book a new unit we would’ve had $0 spending wise for next few days so that would not work. We had extra money in our account but then if we spent that on an entire new Airbnb we would barely have any money left. Not everyone can afford to book 2 Airbnbs back to back and have plenty of money left. This wasn’t a vacation, we are digital nomads)
