Do I need a lawyer of can I file a claim directly through the inssurance company?
This lady reversed her car into me (she tapped me and then slammed on the gas and hit me harder) while I was walking to work. I went to the ER, no fractures, no broken bones, just inflammation and pain. The hit hurt but it could have been worse, I have miss a week of work so far. I have my follow up with my primary care doctor in a few days. The pain and injury kept me out of work because I need to use my body and my body is getting tired doing things like cooking(I tried once and I was in pain so no more cooking) and folding laundry(which is now thrown in the corner of my room). My question is, can I get my lost wages covered by filing a claim myself? or do I need to go through a lawyer? I am hoping I am back to work in a week, so IDK if a lawyer would find my case worth it money wise. I spoke to one and they will take 1/3 of what they get me, which so far will most likely only be $2,000. But with that said I still am in some pain. This experince is very upsetting because I want to work and be active, and at the same time I am limited.
