I built a free visual song-guessing game based on a road-trip idea. I’d love your expert feedback! (Songzle.com)
I’m a neuroscientist and lifelong music lover. A few weeks back, during a long family road trip, I was listening to the Eagles' "Witchy Woman" and had a sudden idea for a "Name That Song" style of game.
I just published a brief article explaining the brain science behind this road-trip spark and how the app came about: https://medium.com/@steven.m.thurman3/how-ai-helped-me-turn-a-long-family-drive-into-a-full-blown-music-game-15266726a404
So I built Songzle.com—a free daily game where you guess the song based on a lyric-inspired digital illustration and a variety of clues (There are also 50 free puzzles in the pop jukebox section of the record store, but it requires a pro upgrade to access all the mixtape challenges - I got kids to feed!).
My family and friends have been playing it and providing some constructive feedback, but to really refine the game, I need broader feedback and beta testers from people who actually love the challenge of naming songs.
Since this community is the best at identifying music, I would love it if you could check out the site and tell me:
- Is the difficulty satisfying, or too easy/hard?
- How does the interface feel on your phone?
- What features or artist packs would you want to see besides what is there?
It’s 100% free, has no ads, and requires no login. Give it a spin at Songzle.com and let me know your brutal, honest feedback in the comments!
