Maintaining IF/OMAD while having friends / work lunches / etc

Seeking Advice

I am I'm really comfortable finally in my intermittent fasting - in myself. It works for me, I don't feel the 4 o'clock rageys anymore, and when I'm "on", I can manage my weight (and energy levels more importantly) really well.

BUT I'm struggling with other people. If we want to meet for lunch and I politely say "I'm sorry, I don't usually eat lunch, but I'd love to catch up anyway and you can eat and I'll just get coffee (etc)" - I've had a fair amount of people say they feel uncomfortable and ask to reschedule to "when I'm eating normal again"

It's *okay* most of the time - but recently I've had some difficult family stuff which kept me antisocial for almost 18 - and now I'm trying to settle back into my own 'real life'. Repeatedly having the door semi-closed by people close to me is weighing on me emotionally.

I've never been able to do early-day OMAD (breakfast or lunch) because eating makes me hungrier so I tend to do it later in the day (7pm or so). But if I'm meeting someone, I'm thinking maybe I cycle OMAD to that meal for just one day - but then I worry about the knock on effect of IF.

So... a few questions for the hivemind if that's okay.

  1. Anyone have experience on intermittent fasting with a strict schedule say...6 days of the week, but 1 day a week you do a much longer window (1200-1900 e.g. for lunch and dinner)?

  2. How about with just doing "non IF /OMAD" one day a week? It hasn't felt right for me before, but I'm not sure if I'm just being precious.

  3. Beyond "your friends suck get better friends" (they don't suck I promise) any advice on how to better bridge this kinda thing with them?

Sorry these questions are a bit fluffy but I'm not quite sure what I'm asking yet, so I'm half writing, half brainstorming with myself.
