[Landlord US-CA]Do I give roommate mailbox keys?

Potential Landlord situation: if I decide to rent out a room in my small home. Potential roommate may stay from 6 months to a year or two but not likely longer. Maybe less than 6 months too. I can easily change door keys with minimal cost and inconvenience. But mailbox key is more difficult to replace. Mailbox is a community mailbox location.

Q: Should I not give mailbox keys? I'll be checking the mail at least give times a week and more likely 6-7 times a week anyway.
