Ex wants children’s weight and height for putting them as “life insurance beneficiaries”

My ex texted me asking for both my daughter’s heights and weights. He said it’s for them to receive money of something were to happen to him. Do life insurance policies ask for this ?

A little background. He doesn’t live in the same state. Rarely sees our children, 1 day in the last two years.
It’s bothering me after I thought about it. Wondering if those questions are used more for my children having the insurance policy on them, or is he telling the truth and they’re the beneficiaries.
