Before I get jumped, I’m not saying that can’t harness the power of the chaos emeralds. They clearly can. But not in the way Sonic, shadow, and silver can. While the three of them have been referred to as having “Super forms“, everyone else have been explicitly referred to as having super powers, not exactly a full on super form.

The main difference is that their physical appearance stays the same, they just get a golden aura. Even in the classic games, characters other than sonic have only flashed a color lighter than that of their base one, not gaining any changes beyond that.

Metal and trip are an odd exception. While based on how one time using all seven chaos emeralds, base metal cannot go super. However, Neo metal is can. Trip on the other hand, gains a dragon form upon using the seven chaos emeralds, different from both super forms and super powers in appearance. It’s not explained why she gets an entirely new form and not just super powers like the rest of Sonic’s friends though.

One last thing to note is that Sonic, shadow, and silver are the only characters in the series who have series who have used chaos control without any external help or forces, other than black doom. But yeah, that’s all I had to say.

Ya’ll do know that nobody other than sonic, shadow, neo metal sonic, and silver have “super” forms, right?
