The job market is rough right now. Here's what actually moved the needle for me when I was in it

A few years ago I got laid off and it sucked. The market was rough and I had no idea how to actually get good at interviewing. After a lot of trial and error I figured out the right order to prep, and it landed me a FAANG offer.

1. Record yourself. It's painful but you need to be comfortable on camera since that's what your environment will be during the interview.

2. Get structured feedback on your actual answers. This is where most people skip ahead too fast. Before spending $200/hr on a coach, you need to know where your weak spots are. Is it your segmentation, prioritization etc? You need feedback tied to the actual criteria interviewers use.

3. THEN work with a coach. A coach is most valuable when you already know your gaps and can use the session to fix them, not discover them. It's expensive, so use it to get yourself past the hiring bar. Repeat step 2 if necessary.

I know a lot of people are in the middle of it right now. I built tryproductloop.com to sit between step 2 and 3. It scores your answers against real hiring rubrics and tells you specifically what's holding you back and what to work on.

You can try it free. And if you leave feedback on what worked or didn't (info@tryproductloop.com or DM), I'll throw in more free sessions — genuinely trying to make this useful for people in the middle of a search!
