Season 8 has reverted what good Season 7 did

Can I be honest, this season has felt GARBAGE in comparison to last season. Let me get into it below. If you don’t want to read this, or are tired of these posts, I recommend leaving and not reading further.

1. The matchmaking. I don’t know what it is, but it is abhorrent. I’m queueing up my games in Diamond 1, and I have people who are still doing their placements in GM3 and people in D3/2 on my team or on the enemy team for their placements. Like WHAT IS THAT DIFFERENCE What are we doing Rivals that could be a massive gap in skill.

2. My teammates. Why… do I have people who are locking in character in DIAMOND 1 who have genuinely played characters for less than an hour? I have had MULTIPLE support mains lock in Groot and not be useful. I just had another support main lock in Iron Fist. They had played him a grand total of 20 minutes the last two months. WHAT ARE WE DOING? Oh, and then no one proceeds to com, gets tilted in matches when people do, AND DON’T PRESS MUTE. JUST PRESS MUTE ITS JUST ONE BUTTON IF YOU DONT LIKE WHAT SOMEONE IS SAYING!

3. The performance. The game has been running HORRIBLY for me this season. Constant lag and no regs are rampant for me. I’m hitting people with my fully charged spear on Angela, AND ITS NOT REGISTERING. I have to hit it again for it to do anything. It’s horrible. Skins aren’t loading either, and I had a match cancel in 18v18 for the first time ever. Everyone was confused what happened but the game itself crashed.

4. The new character. I’m a tank main, but I’m liking this character less and less. The entire game revolves around him, and if you don’t adapt to that, you lose. LITERALLY the Sentinals (a pro team) lost a match because they didn’t know how to play around the Dino. I’m starting to believe that this blasted Dinosaur might be getting too similar to Mauga from Overwatch more and more.

5. The balance. Why why why did we buff Starlord and Phoenix!? It has to be one of the dumbest decisions the devs have made. Daredevil is still OP, Black Cat is hellspawn, Elsa is still broken, Groot is still OP, Namor is still OP, Punisher is OP with his shotgun, and meanwhile HALF of the duelist roster is GARBAGE! Like what is even happening? On top of that, ALMOST. EVERY. SINGLE. SUPPORT. Is broken. I mean, Cnd is still busted, but there is so much to ban now, no one is banning her. And we have entered MONTH 7 of Gambit being constant banned and OP. “Gambit isn’t that bad” HE IS BANNED ALMOST ALWAYS IN PRO PLAY AND MULTIPLE HIGH ELO STREAMERS HAVE STATED THAT HE IS STILL OP.

6. Banning. I am TIRED of being banned harsher for leaving a QP match than leaving a comp match. It’s genuinely ridiculous how bad it is. Like why am I banned from every game mode in QP, but if I leave comp, I get banned just from comp (I don’t leave comp just making an example). Then, I report people and whatever AI system that Rivals has in place spams my messages with “This person was banned”. I KNOW that person was only banned 30 minutes max for just leaving a game. You didn’t ban that nut for going Widow and throwing mine. Or more lately, banning them for leaving a game. And ZERO point compensation for any of this btw. “Well, you get reduced point loss” I SHOULD BE GETTING 10 POINTS LOST AT MOST FOR SOMEONE LEAVING. The AI system is GARBAGE.

7. Tenacity. Utter trash system. Let’s be real. They rushed it because of the Dinosaur. They knew that they had their big, beefy character that was going to get stunned a ton, so they rushed a system that should have taken time and added it. It DOES NOT address the issues that people have been complaining about AT ALL. All it does is ruin combo moves and ults. I wanted an Overwatch passive to reduce boops and stuns, but all we have now is tenacity which they’ll remove and rework at Christmas the soonest.

Overall, I believe that people are going to VERY soon realize how bad this all is. I feel like we lost a lot of good progress from the previous season and just made repeated garbage mistakes. Personally, I’m considering taking a break from the game for a while. I hit Celestial 3 last season for the first time, so I think that I’m good to take a season off and just chill playing something else. GGS.
