RE: Needing Motivation & Or Advice

I’m a 27 year old male from Upstate NY. This upcoming August is my 5th year at the glass factory and I will be fully vested into our pension plan. In March, I became a licensed P&C insurance agent. My eork schedule at the factory is lucrative. I work a 3/4 overnight 12 hour shift schedule. Therefore, I work at my best friends family agency on my days off from the factory. I’m working 6 days a week. I make a really good wage at the factory with good benefits that are cheap too. I’m currently putting 16% into my 401k between my pre tax & post tax contributions. I’m getting a 2% company match. I have a plan to increase from 16% to 20% in a couple months. I have a life insurance policy through work & an FSA along with union benefits. My motivation has been lacking here the past few weeks. It mentally crushes me. I don’t want to be at the factory forever. It makes me lazy & does not fuel growth which is what I think is important. The work is boring. The schedule sucks. I work overnights by choice because of what I like to do in my free time (golf). I’m not sure if my seniority could bring me to days or not. However, I do like working at the agency. It’s challenging & I get to use my brain for once. I make a small hourly rate. I keep a budget, savings & investing plan/strategy. I’m in the process of buying my stepdads duplex to house hack. The mortgage will be paid for by my tenant. I have a 750+ credit score. I almost feel stuck & I need to make a play/FIO. I know I’m meant for more. I have skills day trading but have never been able to build true sustained success in pulling capital out of the market. However, I have never given up on this skill. I definitely have FOMO from working 6 days a week & not having much time to be social. My plan is to eventually go full time at the agency & give up the factory job. My best friend will one day be the owner of the agency. The smartest thing to do is probably stay at the factory for the next 3-5 years, save up $ & keep expenses low.

If you have some advice or motivation in regard to my situation please share. Thanks!
