D in freshman year of college

Hello! I just finished up my freshman year of college - I ended up slacking off in one of my classes and ended up with a D, which is really freaking me out because I really want to go to a top law school. Even if I spend my entire college experience making up for the tank it took on my GPA and ending up with a decent GPA, how would getting a D during freshman year on my transcript look to law school officers?
