I'm a Grade 11 student in ON, Canada, and I want to go into history. Is it worth it?

Ontario, Canada

So context (ill try to keep this breif)

I am a gr 11 students in the lower part of Canada, like 45 minutes from Toronto (if that helps with anything). And I really love history. Like since he start of primary school.

But my mom is south Asian (and the definition of emotionally burdening tiger mom, not even exageratin) and hates the idea (ofc), and wants me to go into science.

I absolutely DESPISE science and math. Like my day gets ruined when I have math homework or a science test is announced.

I took physics to open my possible options, and to keep an open mind (i always secretly wanted to get into teh scines, just im horrible at them no matter what). That ruined my whole gpa, and even dropped my other subjects cause i was always forcusing on pysics.

So my 90s in english and world history ended up at 88s.

and i got a 71 in physics.

(skip here for end of yap session)

So long story short. I suck at physics and i am decent at history, but enjoy.

The thing is Idk if I should go into it.

Some say that I should "follow my dreams" and while others (majoruty my family) are telling me to just listen to my mom, as she knows best. Like extended family included.

(ik they r concerned for me, just this is getting to a point that its the only thing my family know about me and are concerned with.

Should I listen to them, and just fight for a good future just for the ability to study hisotry on my own time, or follow my interests?
