First time landing in Canada as PR (Outland Spousal Sponsorship) – What should we expect at the airport?

Hi everyone,

My wife will be traveling to Canada for the first time next month through the Outland spousal sponsorship. She recently received her passport back with the immigrant visa stamped along with COPR.

Her flight is with Qatar Airways:
Ahmedabad → Doha → Toronto (YYZ)

Toronto will be her first port of entry in Canada.

I wanted to understand the actual landing experience from people who recently went through it.

A few questions:

• What kind of questions do officers usually ask during PR landing?
• Are they strict during the interview/process?
• Any documents other than passport and COPR that she should carry?
• Anything specific we need to declare?
• How long does the landing process usually take?
• Any tips for first-time immigrants traveling alone?
• Did anyone recently land through Toronto (YYZ)? How was the experience?
