Buying a truck in Quebec to bring in Ontario? Taxe question
How does it work if my business in Ontario buys a truck in Quebec?
Truck is in Quebec and he will be charging the Quebec taxes (around 15% i think)
But then if I bring the bill of sale in service ontario, won’t they charge me the HST when I transfer ownership? I’m assuming HST on the sale price And not the sale price + quebec taxes + HST
Im sure I could get a tax refund with Revenue Quebec? But I would still end up paying taxes twice, until next year I get a refund
We buy a lot of supplies that are picked up in Quebec, transported in Ontario, and used in Ontario and always get the taxes back from Revenue Quebec. It create lots of paperwork but my accountant is used to it, not sure if she’s familiar with bigger expanses like trucks.
I’m aware that commercial safety in Quebec isn’t valid for Ontario, this truck already passed safety in Quebec so I’m assuming they have strict safety just like Ontario
