Speech therapy for a 15 month old?
My youngest had her 15 month old appointment and she can say mama, dads, hot, no, hi, and babbles a ton. Our pediatrician just gave directions of like making sure we are saying things around her, note what she is pointing at etc and we can revisit at her 18 month check up. I read to her like crazy and talk abbunch.
I’m wondering between now and 18 months should I look into a speech therapist? I have 2 family members who had a toddler who didn’t talk until he was 3 and a 19 month old who does not speak but they didn’t do speech therapy so this is kind of new for our family.
My oldest was talking before he could walk so we never had to do it. I’m just wondering if I should wait until the 18tm month appointment or do something now.
I see so many parents say their child didn’t start talking until 2 with no intervention or didn’t say anything at all at 15 months.
Just looking for some guidance.
Thank you!!
