Hello! So for context Jumphrey is a wild (not-quite) caught jumper who I found in my home and made a little open enclosure for him to hang out in and stay warm in winter, but also leave whenever he wants to find food

So I hadn't seen him in days, and then last night I found him on a wall just staying very very still. I even found him the next morning with all his legs in the exact same position. I got a piece of card and when I moved it near him he started moving but seemed to have trouble climbing.

I got him on the card and moved him so I could offer some sugar water (I don't have any cotton buds so improvised with some tissue) but he didn't seem very interested. And the old, long-dead daddy long legs was still there so when I started to move it, it looks like he tried a bite but was understandably not very interested (see video)

He's now hanging out in his enclosure and was climbing the twigs and leaves well, though the glass seemed tricky for him. It looks a bit like he's dragging his legs sometimes, and now he's very still on a leaf.

Questions:
❓I'm going to try my best to find something alive for him today, but since he seems like he might be struggling somewhat, what would you suggest? Are daddy long legs slow enough to not pose too much of a threat, or are they too big?

❓Also all I have is castor sugar, but he doesn't seem very interested in it mixed with water, do they have a preference? I've also sprayed the other side of the enclosure with regular water

❓Could his stillness and leg-dragging be a sign he needs to malt or something? Or do you think he might be getting old? :(

\*\*Some context for the videos: I'm sorry for the heavy breathing and shakiness 😅 I'm pretty intensely arachnophobic (less so with jumpers and daddy long legs) but this is all very new for me still.

Any advice would be so helpful as I'm trying to find out as much as I can through google, but feeling a bit out of my depth.

I LOVE HIM SO MUCH YOU GUYS 😭 💖

Jumphrey Update!! Please help, he's very hungry and very still :S
