Roommate’s bf hardly ever leaves, AIO?

Am I overreacting for getting upset that my roommate’s boyfriend is always at our apartment?

I live with one roommate and things were fine at first. But a few months ago she started dating someone and now he is here almost every single day.

He sleeps over most nights. He showers here, cooks here, and hangs out in the living room when she isn’t even home sometimes. I don’t feel comfortable in my own apartment anymore. I feel awkward leaving my room because I never know if he’ll be there.

The thing that really annoyed me happened this week. I bought groceries and noticed stuff going missing. I asked my roommate about it and she casually said her boyfriend ate some of it because he “thought it was for everyone”.

I told her I’m starting to feel like I live with two people instead of one and that it’s unfair because he doesn’t pay rent or utilities. She got defensive and said I’m being controlling and that couples spending time together is normal.

Now things feel really tense in the apartment and I’m wondering if I made too big of a deal out of it. Am I overreacting?
