What type of hose should I use?
We inherited my in-laws pool. It’s made from harvestore silo panels and 27’ round. This is a center bottom drain setup so I need a hose that can be buried underground. We also live in the upper Midwest where a 5’ deep pool could potentially freeze solid if you get what I’m saying. My in-laws had used some sort of reinforced hose for the drain line to the pump. I’m guessing it was originally a clear pvc that had the reinforced ribs imbedded in it. The original hose was glued into normal pvc fittings. When removed it was difficult to make out what kinda of hose it was since it was faded and weather checked. I had originally planned to use schedule 40 pvc to replace it but it crossed my mind that pvc does not handle freezing at all and I felt expect it to freeze, or at least parts of it.
Anyone else have this situation and have recommendations on a hose? We live in SD where our temps go from 110 in the summer to -50 in the winter. And yes, we love it here-temps included 😬
