Incredibly oppressive breathing issues of 8 years suddenly resolve after a chiropractor visit

I apologize, I'm a little disoriented. I'll try to be as clear as possible. I apologize if I come off as repetitive or terse; I took a weed edible to keep myself calm after I got home from Urgent Care.

I (35 AFAB, 145 lbs, 5' 6", last menstrual cycle was no more than two months ago and it's never been regular so that's not unusual) 8 years ago in 2018 was basically disabled by random breathing issues that moved in quite literally over the course of a few seconds one day. When I was walking back to my laboratory from a restaurant down the street, something deep in the trunk of my body kind of settled and I felt a deep constriction like iron bands ringing my abdomen too tightly for my diaphragm and chest to expand enough for a satisfying breath or to be able to yawn (the air just kind of stalls as I'm trying to pull it into my throat). It went away after a few minutes, but it returned a few days later while I was out taking my chihuahua for a walk, and then it just never left.

I have never smoked or drank and I didn't even take marijuana edibles back then, so I had no reason to suspect a pulmonary or cardiac issue; my family typically doesn't get those anyway. I waited for it to clear up on its own for a few days, and when it didn't, I finally had my dad take me to the ER and get a typical ER workup, which showed nothing.

The difficulty never eased with any medication or exercise or massage or anything I've tried over the last eight years. I am not exaggerating when I say this has ruined my life. I've been to several ENTs (I just had a nasal endoscopy to rule out a deviated septum a few months ago), cardiologists, pulmonologists, rheumetologists, I've had ultrasounds and X-rays and recently two CT scans of my chest and sinuses, which were both clear. When I let my aunt drag me to a chiropractor, it really was a "fuck it, why not" kind of thing.

It wasn't overwhelming. He did some stuff with a warm light on my back and then had me sit on his table and lightly manipulated my back. I'd been offhandedly diagnosed with Mixed Connective Tissue Disease in 2019 or so while I was searching for a diagnosis for my breathing problems but nothing had come of that, so I thought maybe something massage-adjacent would help.

I felt a little off yesterday, but it took until evening for me to realize that there was a clear fluid coming out of my navel last night. I kind of watched it until morning and then tossed around whether it was worth it to go to Urgent Care, then ultimately went because I did feel a little feverish and my urethra felt especially weird today.

They didn't have an ultrasound there but they ran a urinalysis and then sent it out for a culture, but it hasn't come back yet. I don't know if I should assume that it will; whatever it is doesn't actually hurt at all and I can pee and pass gas without incident (I haven't tried to have a bowel movement but the last few days have been very stressful so my eating habits haven't been great so I didn't want to force it. I did let the Urgent Care doctor persuade me to try to pee so I did and there was an elevated white blood cell count but it was clear/not cloudy.

Only my stomach behind my navel hurts at all, really, and it's a stretch to say it hurts, it's just kind of sore, like it's been distended for so long. My side is covered in stretch marks. The weirdest thing is that I can suddenly breathe freely again after so long - I'm genuinely kind of terrified I'll wake up and find the symptoms will have started up again because it instantly made me 300% less suicidal. I'm sitting here playing video games and hoping I don't get sepsis while I wait to be able to see my GP and genuinely thinking that I'm glad I got to experience normal breathing at least once before I died no matter what.

The doctor seemed to believe it might be a cyst. I know there's no real reason to impute the visit to the chiropractor as the catalyst for everything, but it's also the only real change I've had recently, and I felt the pressure in my body begin to ease about six hours after the visit. I am a little delirious because I'm afraid to sleep, but obviously I need to if I want to get better. Complicating this is that last year I lost the ability to orgasm and when I went to see my GP, he didn't seem very concerned about it and told me, verbatim, "[Gynaecologists] don't care about [that] sort of thing," and then my dad got diagnosed with cancer, so I just didn't address it, but now I'm getting sensation back.

Surely if it was cancerous I'd have had other symptoms, right...
