PSA: Measure your foot as an adult!

I’ve been wearing an 8.5D my whole life, I have wide feet. I am going to Japan for my honey moon and decided I better get some nice shoes for all the walking, and they offered to measure my foot. I AM A 6.5 2E!!!!!! I’ve been wearing a too large size my whole adult life to compensate for my fat feet. I tried a 6.5 for the first time today and I feel like I’ve never walked with so much stability.

TL:DR: if you’ve been going off vibes for your shoe size since your feet stopped growing, measure them! You might be a completely different size!
