Today's the first time fir me that Expert mode in the Deepseek app felt worse than Deepseek's baseline performace before the Expert and Instant modes were added.

Just another post tracking the progression of the performance of Deepseek's free versions, since those are the versions I use, and I want these posts to exist for the sake of posterity, to be able to date the decline, measure it and such.

But this post is just what it says on the tin, even Expert mode today has been performing SO badly that it's actually given me some flashbacks to how bad ChatGPT got near the end, before I stopped using it! And after I thought about it, I realized that today has been the first day where I feel like Expert mode is worse than Deepseek before Expert and Instant modes existed. And keep in mind, it had still gotten pretty bad back then, it'd been trending downward in performancr for a while!

...But it does feel like it took a lot less time to reach this point, this time.
