Why is grenade throwing so fing rtarded?

I have rats 3 feet away from me... I throw a grenade and it flies 100 ft down the road. I throw another one lower... it bounces off the ground and still flies 100 ft down the road. I try to catapult it by throwing up... the grenade hits the moon.

Why do my hands rocket launch grenades all the time?

No way to adjust the trajectory. There are tons of games in the past 20 years that let you do that. Why is Stalker so fing insanely, profusely, utterly DUMB about it?
