My director turns every little thing into career discussions, should I just play along with it?
So, every small thing with my director becomes a full karate kid life lessons I must learn episode. If a deck diesnt go super well and VP asks for changes, I get sort of a one hour coach session with her. Last friday I sent the directors a message with an info, but then figured out it was a misunderstanding and clarified innediately so no harm done. But I already dread the fact that on Tuesday I will spend an hour with her talking about this. Shes overall a good professional, and I am an individual senior cobtributor managing several programs and projects so sometimes of course mistakes and problems happen.
How should I deal with this? Is it wiser to just play the game and appreciate every feedback even it feels like a waste of time? Or should I share that I believe we overthink too much over every single issue?
