This bug won't let me get past Flowey's first dialogue in Butterscotch Undertale, Pls Help

I just installed Butterscotch so I could play Undertale on my 3DS. When I launch Undertale, everything goes smoothly until the first encounter with Flowey, before meeting Toriel. Suddenly, it gets stuck on Flowey's first dialogue and won't let me progress. I can only move Frisk's soul around the battle box. How do I fix this?

(Don't judge me for having my 2DS like this, I've had it since 2017 and I shared it with my careless brother when he was 5.)
