How to play lying from you by Linkin Park on a 7 string

I wanted to use my 7 string to play this to give it a bit more low end however I keep having people say to simply tune it a particular way and ignore the extra string. I don't want to ignore it I want to use it. What tuning would I use and how would I change the chord shapes for it?

I got invited to do a collaboration with my buddy and I thought it would give the riff a little extra low end bite to it. The 7 string is a schecter omen elite with stock pickups.

Also, what pickups would be good to swap for the stock ones primarily for metal but also can sound good for acoustic?
